My birthday was recently and since I am always the person that makes everyone’s birthday cake, I decided that I would change it up for myself and try a new and improved recipe for myself! I absolutely love coconut, and I always have wanted to put a filling in a cupcake. After looking at all… Continue reading Coconut Cupcakes with Raspberry Filling
This was made for my niece’s 6th birthday. For most of her birthday cakes she has always asked for Tangled. Well, this year, I made her a doll cake! The mold and doll came from the Wilton mold cake set. The cake is my traditional yellow cake that is mentioned in the Dora Birthday Cupcakes… Continue reading Tangled Doll Cake
Hello everyone! This cake was made for my nephew’s 6th birthday. All he wanted for his cake when I asked him was a “scooby doo, lego, and sports cake” (and I asked him if it had to be all together, he said YES). So here it is! The cake is from a stadium cake… Continue reading Scooby Doo, Sports, and Lego Cake
This cake was made for a friend’s graduation from Penn State University. The frosting is the buttercream frosting featured in the Dora Birthday Cupcakes recipe. The food coloring is Wilton Royal Blue Icing Color (sorry about not being natural!). The decorations were piped on using various tips. Hope you enjoy and please comment!
This was one of my first recipes that I have made since I have been home from school. It is also one of my favorites and one of my family favorites. I found it while searching through so many different Strawberry Shortcake recipes on Google. Ever since I started making the recipe, I have been coming up with new ways to present each of the cake layers and ingredients. I first made this cake with my nieces and nephew. My one niece loved it so much that she said she wanted it for her next birthday (I didn’t actually do this because a bunch of 5 year olds probably won’t all enjoy a “fancy” cake, and cute decorations don’t really go with it).
I asked what type of birthday cake my friend wanted for her birthday. After contemplating for sometime, she came to the conclusion of a brownie cake. Now this couldn’t have been just any brownie cake, it had to be the best brownie cake ever! While watching Ina Garten on the Barefoot Contessa, I knew just… Continue reading Ultimate Brownie Cake
The best creation that I have ever read on a baking blog was to add yellow cake mix to the rice krispie treat batter. I wanted to make it tonight, but since I am moving from my apartment and cleaning out all of the baking essentials, I only had a box of chocolate cake mix.… Continue reading Double Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats
So I decided for my first post to go with the more traditional route. I always use this yellow cake recipe for all the parties in my family. I originally read it from the book called Southern Cakes by Nancie McDermott. The title of the actual cake is called Fabulous Caramel Cake. For as many… Continue reading Dora Birthday Cupcakes
